The Spritz

Serve it cold and enjoy it in the company of your friends!

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml of prosecco
  • 40 ml of Aperol (or other preferred bitter liqueur)
  • A splash of sparkling water
  • A slice of orange
  • Ice
  • A green olive or a slice of orange for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a wine glass or a goblet with ice cubes halfway.
  2. Pour the prosecco into the glass.
  3. Add the Aperol.
  4. Add a splash of sparkling water to balance the taste.
  5. Gently stir the ingredients with a spoon.
  6. Garnish with a slice of orange on the rim of the glass.
  7. Add a green olive or a slice of orange for an extra presentation if desired.

Orecchiette are a type of fresh pasta typical from Puglia, made from re-milled durum wheat flour, water and salt. The round and concave shape is similar to small ears, hence their name! With a rough surface, a thin interior and a thicker edge, they are perfect for accommodating the most varied condiments, from the classic tomato sauce and ricotta to the traditional orecchiette with turnip greens.
